Board the glass-front elevator with your guide and descend 260 feet into Lookout Mountain to reach the cave.  Using hand-held lanterns provided by Ruby Falls, your group will explore the cavern pathways by the light of your lantern’s ambient glow. The ethereal atmosphere highlights the natural beauty of the cave’s ancient formations and thundering waterfall. The discovery story of the cave will undoubtedly reignite your belief in possibilities and it gives new meaning to taking the scenic route. (Book your Lantern Tour several weeks before your trip because they typically sell out.  If tickets are sold out, check the other tour options. The roundtrip walk is 1 mile and easy, but you’ll want to wear closed toe shoes with sturdy soles.)Young woman in a dark cave holding a lantern near her face.
