The Best Brunch Spots in Chattanooga

Enjoying a scrumptious brunch is one of the best ways to level up your weekend — or vacation! We asked our team at Ruby Falls to share their top picks, and we guarantee this list will have your mouth watering!

State of Confusion

Brunch available Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00am – 2:30pm

Located in the heart of the trendy Southside neighborhood, State of Confusion’s motto is “eat, drink, celebrate.” The vibe is fun with Latin American, New Orleans, and Carolina Lowcountry-inspired food on their spacious outdoor patio.  And their dog-friendly outdoor patio makes this spot great for the whole family – even the four-legged furry ones!

Our favorite is the Confusion Benedict: An English muffin topped with house-made bologna, poached egg, and hollandaise sauce that comes with a side of their Confusion Potatoes. Pair that with a $2 Double Mimosa for an especially delightful morning!

For dessert, don’t pass up their New Orleans-style donuts called beignets. We think y’all will love them!

Maple Street Biscuit Company

Brunch served 7 days a week from 7am – 2pm

If you want “biscuits that wow”, check out the Maple Street Biscuit Company. This place is serious about biscuits elevated with a modern twist in addition to tasty waffles and delicious sides. Plus, the Maple Street Biscuit Company offers two locations in Chattanooga, making this choice especially convenient!

One of our favorites is the Five-and-Dime: a biscuit sandwich loaded with fried chicken strips, pecanwood smoked bacon, cheddar, a fried egg, and house-made sausage or shitake gravy with a kick. And hashbrown lovers rejoice with the Three Layer Cake’s over the top hashbrown cake with cheddar, a fried egg and gravy!

If biscuits are not your jam, try the specialty waffles, omelets or grits. The Green Fried Tomatoes – a must for any Southern brunch. Adults can complete the Southern atmosphere with mason jar mimosas with fresh squeezed orange juice.

Need something for the little ones? Their kid’s menu has both sweet and savory items to choose from, making everyone happy.

Milk & Honey

Milk & Honey serves brunch 7 days a week from 6am – 3pm

Milk & Honey started out as a tiny gelato shop with lines out the door, more than a decade ago before expanding their menu with brunch (brunch is always better when it includes gelato at the end!). EVERYthing at Milk & Honey became so popular they’ve expanded their shop several times to offer more seating and more brunch options. Today’s Milk & Honey combines a classic ambiance with honeycomb-patterned black and white tiles and sunny natural lighting that’s just right with a menu providing a perfect balance of indulgent, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. Lots of menu items can be made vegan, so feel free to ask!

One of our team’s favorites is the Avocado Toast with fresh baked sourdough bread topped with avocado, tomato jam, caramelized onion, arugula, and sunny-side-up eggs. Served with a side of fresh berries or home fries, this “toast” is truthfully a meal.  And their Cinnamon Roll and homemade Pop Tarts are the things of dreams!

Milk & Honey serves Stumptown Coffee with a wide selection of lattes, including a Salted Caramel Latte and a Lavender Honey Latte. At their “Build Your Own Mimosa” bar, you can choose from a wide selection of fresh cold-pressed juice. Their Dirty Chai is what makes even a Wednesday feel like a Saturday!

Do not leave Milk & Honey without buying a dozen of their famous sea-salted caramels for sale at the counter! Seriously, get some caramels!.

Niedlov’s

Brunch served on Saturdays from 7am – 3pm

Chattanooga’s artisan bakery, Niedlov’s Bakery & Cafe is a family-owned and operated bakery and cafe. Their bread is baked using a European stone hearth oven, and their pastries, also made from scratch daily, range from butter croissants, cinnamon rolls, scones, and danishes. Are you drooling yet?

We recommend a classic: the almond croissant. Filled with almond paste and topped with sliced almonds & powdered sugar, this flaky pastry simply is perfection.

For something more savory, their Lox & Bagel sandwich is divine.   Their homemade everything bagel is served with cold smoked Atlantic salmon, lemon dill cream cheese, tomato, red onion, herb cucumber and caper salad, sesame seeds, and micro greens. Add a side of their fried fingerling potato fries, and you will be in your happy place.

Ronnie’s Grill

Open 7 days a week from 11am – 7pm

Go old-school with wonderful Ronnie’s Gril! You won’t find a mimosa bar here. You will find delicious traditional breakfast fare that always stays in style. Choose from breakfast platters which include 2 eggs, 1 meat, and 2 sides, or a plate topped high with lucious pancakes. Like any respectable breakfast place, get your eggs scrambled, fried, over easy, or sunny-side-up.

You must get Ronnie’s fresh local sausage, which you can order on one of the breakfast platters or sandwiches! Our favorite is the sausage, egg, & cheese sandwich breakfast, costing you a thrifty $4.50.

Plus, they serve until 7 pm, meaning you can order breakfast for dinner any night of the week!

But what if you don’t have time for a full-on brunch?

Stop by Ruby Falls’ Castle Cafe for a light breakfast before or after your cave adventure. The Castle Cafe opens daily at 8:00 am and serves fair-trade certified coffee, roasted locally by Mayfly Coffee. Plus, choose from a variety of breakfast sandwiches, pastries, a bowl of in-season fruit, or a greek yogurt parfait. The Blueberry Cobbler muffins are popular with the Ruby Falls team every morning! Check out the Cafe’s full menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts and snacks.  If you are a history buff, eating in the circa 1929 castle is an added perk!

Enjoy experiencing these Chattanooga favorites, your tastebuds will thank you. With a wide range of options available, the toughest decision may be selecting just one to visit! Bon appétit!
