A school field trip to Ruby Falls includes a guided walk to the thundering underground waterfall and access to Lookout Mountain Tower for amazing views of the Cumberland Plateau and Tennessee River.
During the 1-mile round trip walk on the cavern trail, students learn about the discovery of Ruby Falls and see ancient geological formations. The path to the waterfall features stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, flowstone, and many other geological wonders. Tours are fun and educational for students of all ages.
Educational group rates are valid for school groups of 15+ paying guests, Monday-Friday (excluding holidays), and one person paying for the entire group in advance.

Students (ages 4-18): $15.00
Adults: $22.50
Educational groups receive one complimentary adult admission for every 10 paid students. 15 paying guests are required to qualify for the group rate. Ask about Title I discounts available in January and February.
Know Before You Go
- Groups must arrive 30 minutes prior to their reserved tour time.
- Parents paying separately from the school will not be able to go on the same tour as their student.
- The group leader must prepay for the entire group at least 5 days in advance. If paying by check, it must be received by Ruby Falls at least 5 days in advance.
- One chaperone per 10 students is required as the group will be divided into smaller groups for the elevator trip to and from the cave. A chaperone must accompany each group in the elevator.
- Restroom facilities are not available inside the cave.
