A favorite destination for 90 years, Ruby Falls is home to the tallest and deepest underground waterfall open to the public in the United States. Discover hidden beauty deep inside Lookout Mountain on the Cave Walk to Ruby Falls led by a Ruby Falls guide. Descend 260 feet by elevator into the mountain and explore the cavern trail to the tallest and deepest cave waterfall open to the public in the United States. Learn the story behind the accidental discovery of the cavern, see stunning rock formations, and experience the thundering waterfall! The Cave Walk to Ruby Falls is approximately 1 hour - 1 hour 20 minutes, depending on date and time of visit.

Amazing views are abundant at Ruby Falls. Take in the beautiful scenery of the Tennessee Valley, Cumberland Plateau, and Tennessee River from high atop Lookout Mountain Tower and Blue Heron Overlook. Spectacular vistas are also found from the front porch of the historic Cavern Castle and on the Village Plaza where you can relax and enjoy the mountain breeze.

Ruby Falls Entrance & Ticket Atrium

The Ticket Atrium entrance features a stunning 37-foot waterfall mural, ticket desk, self-serve ticket kiosks, and guest locker rentals. Ruby Falls timed-entry tickets allow guests to make the most of their visit to Lookout Mountain.

Tours sell out quickly! In response to COVID-19, tour group sizes are significantly reduced. Tours are by reservation only, and tickets must be purchased online in advance. Availability is limited. 

Beginning July 10, any person over the age of 2 is required to wear a face mask covering the nose and mouth while inside Ruby Falls cave and facilities as directed by the Hamilton County Health Department. Per CDC guidelines, children under the age of two should not wear a face mask. 

Ruby Falls’ narrow cavern trail and elevator to the cave do not consistently accommodate 6 feet of social distancing.

Tickets sell out quickly! In response to COVID-19, tour group sizes are significantly reduced. The Cave Walk to Ruby Falls is by reservation only, and tickets must be purchased online in advance. Admission is limited to 20 – 30 guests on each Cave Walk to Ruby Falls. Guests over the age of 2 are required to consistently wear a face mask covering the nose and mouth for the duration of the visit. Per CDC guidelines, children under the age of two should not wear a face mask. Ruby Falls’ narrow cavern trail and elevator to the cave do not consistently accommodate 6 feet of social distancing.

Lantern Tour

Ruby Falls cave adventures are modified for current recommended COVID-19 precautions. 

Experience Ruby Falls in a new light! Discover the wonder of the cavern like its discoverer, Leo Lambert did in 1928. During this after hours, specialty tour, the cavern and its trail is illuminated only by hand-held lanterns. Rock formations and shadows take on new intriguing dimensions as elite guides share stories exclusive to this tour. Lantern Tours are a unique way to explore the falls and cavern after hours with a fun, extended tour featuring a laid-back pace and limited-sized group. For ages 5 and up.

Lantern Tour: Ghost Walk Edition

Ruby Falls cave adventures are modified for current recommended COVID-19 precautions. 

Get in the Halloween spirit with a special edition tour featuring ghost stories from the 91-year history of Ruby Falls. On your way to the waterfall, hear the tales and visit the sites of peculiar encounters, mischievous mayhem and tragedy while exploring the cavern by the light of handheld lanterns. For ages 12 and up.

Open seasonally, High Point ZIP Adventure is the ultimate zip line and climbing adventure located in the forest tree tops on Lookout Mountain. Featuring 700-feet of rushing zip lines and a 40-foot climbing tower, High Point ZIP Adventure offers incredible views of the Tennessee River and Tennessee Valley. 

High Point ZIP Adventure is a separately ticketed activity. Weight and age restrictions apply. Closed-toe and Closed-heel shoes required. Discounted Ruby Falls + High Point ZIP Adventure combination packages are available.
