Job Title: Retail, Food, & Beverage Manager
Reports to: Director of Operations


General Summary:
It is a multi-faceted position that includes operational leadership, inventory management, sales planning, forecasting, merchandising, and contract negotiations. Person must be able to manage all of the staff in gift and food areas, equipment, and inventories and ensure operational efficiency in gift and food areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure optimal service level to customers
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with vendors in order to gain the best support and service
  • Procure management information in line with set standards
  • Fill in front lines

  • Ensure that guests are served properly and in a timely manner
  • Investigate and resolve customers' complaints about quality or service
  • Monitor orders to determine where backups may occur and work with staff leaders to remedy any delays in service
  • Direct cleaning and maintenance to comply with company and government sanitation standards
  • Monitor the actions of their employees and patrons on a continual basis to ensure safety and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and regulations
  • Review records of supply and equipment purchases, verify expense documentation, and submit to accounting for payment in a timely manner
  • Assist accounting in reconciling all inventory accounts to the general ledger, including analysis and explanation of monthly variances
  • Work towards agreements involving exchange of resources, resolves divergent interests
  • Select goal-relevant activities, ranks them, allots time, and prepares and follows schedules
  • Develop product assortments using market trend analysis information as well as managing sales and margins
  • Identify growth opportunities and risks in assortment and develop contingency plans
  • Monitor and achieve budgeted sales and profit goals
  • Ensure that all merchandise is accurately received, priced, stocked and backroom(s) are organized and flow effectively
  • Understand, improve, and maintain the inventory control cycle from the purchase order creation to sale of merchandise
  • Drive receiving compliance with all policies related to inventory transactions, including receiving, returns, transfers, and stock adjustments
  • Work closely with IT to develop a clear understanding of our systems and their impact on inventory and inventory cost
  • Monitor costing and margins to ensure accuracy and consistency and assure optimum profitability
  • Maintain accurate perpetual inventory records within the current systems working closely with accounting
  • Allocate and store merchandise and inventories useing provided space efficiently
  • Design inventory control policies and build a control function that increases store efficiency and decreases shrink working closely with accounting
  • Develop regular reporting to management on current trends and provide visibility into inventory levels at the individual stores and in aggregate
  • Prepare support for inventory related reserves including analysis of variances
  • Develop in store inventory controls and drive the physical inventory audit process working closely with accounting
  • Direct and actively participate in shop merchandising and product display
  • In addition to their regular duties perform a variety of administrative assignments

Educational and Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related preferred; or
  • Minimum Associate's Degree in Business Administration or related with equivalent acceptable experience required
  • Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle and have an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Proven success in merchandise and/or retail preferred
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Work minimum 40 hours per week
