Press Release CONTACT: Hu Longmire (423) 821-2544 rubyfalls@comcast.net www.rubyfalls.com www.hauntedcavern.com The Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern Chattanooga, TN Dates: Weekends in October, after dark Updated calendar available at www.hauntedcavern.com October weekends in Chattanooga have not been the same since Ruby Falls reopened its Haunted Cavern in 2004 after a 15 year hiatus. During this time, in addition to it’s normal day time offering this long time Chattanooga favorite does a first rate Jekyll and Hyde impression after dark (8 pm) by switching from a fun filled family atmosphere to a terror filled abyss not designed for the young or the faint of heart. “We have a lot of fun with it,” states Jack Steiner Jr., Ruby Falls president. “We spend 11 months of the year easing people’s fears about our attraction and one month scaring them to death.” The unguided tour begins with an elevator decent 260 feet underground and the heart stopping event takes place in a section of the Ruby Falls cave not normally open to the public. This portion of the cave is filled with scenes of terror and theme attired actors who torment all who visit. Recent themes include “Dr. Schitzo” (2004) and “Civil War Zombies” (2005). In years past the tour has ended with an additional haunted attraction; The Pitch Black Maze (2004) and The Werewolf Forest (2005). This extra portion which is out of the cavern is an added bonus for freight seekers. The Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern is not recommended for Children ages 10 and under.
